Jacqueline and Ryan’s relationship is the true embodiment of mushy rom com clichés. Love at first sight. When you know, you know. Being in love with your best friend. Their connection was instant, strong, and has only grown deeper since the day they met.

Jacqueline and Ryan met through a mutual friend, our very own groomsman Caleb Lewis, who felt the couple would be an instant match. And so, as one does in the 21st century, the pair followed each other on instagram and shared a few ‘likes’ back and forth. However, Jacqueline grew impatient wondering how long Ryan would take to reach out to her.

A few weeks later, Ryan posted an instagram story of a facial morph between Guy Fieri and Ryan Gosling, which Jacqueline hated, so she wrote to him, “I hate this.” Ryan instantly replied saying here’s my phone number if you want to text me, which she really did. We now know that Ryan was terrified to reach out to Jacqueline, but once she initiated the conversation, he was all in.

Ryan quickly asked Jacqueline on a date that week, and the pair went to Saugerties to hike out to the lighthouse and relax on the water together. That was all it took. Since then, the two became inseparable, spending every moment together, quickly building the strongest relationship the two have ever known.

Nine days after their first date, Ryan suggested moving in together (when you know, you know), although that didn’t officially happen until three months later (even though Jacqueline never went back to her apartment after dating for two weeks). The pair quickly fell in love spending nights lit by candlelight, singing their favorite songs, and talking and laughing until the sun came up. Many evenings were spent (and still are spent) playing their favorite games together, fighting over the best properties on the Monopoly board.

Only nearly a year and a half into their relationship, Ryan proposed to Jacqueline on her favorite day of the year (her half birthday, October 14th) on the beach in Rehoboth, Delaware, where the two had gone on their first trip together. Jacqueline was so excited that she screamed, “of course!” Ryan teases that she never actually said yes.

Since their engagement, Jacqueline and Ryan have been beyond excited and eager to take the next step in spending a lifetime together of laughter, lots of cuddling, and finishing each others sentences. There truly is nothing more special than getting to spend your life with your very best friend.
